WWE Champ John Cena visits TMS for new movie

12 rounds of action, no not boxing but car chasing going on at the Texas Motor Speedway this week.  Actor, John Cena was on hand to promote his new movie "12 Rounds" by chasing stock cars around the mile and a half track in a police car with sirens a blarring. Cena pulled the stock cars over on pit lane and jumped out firing off 12 rounds with a pair of Beretta Stampedes, victory lane celebration style.  Cena was more then estatic, "It's great, I've been in a stock car and they are made to stick to these roads but that police cruiser got a little bit shaky when it got over  100.  It keeps your eyes on the road and it keeps your attention on the wheel. It was really, really, fun."

Cena is also one of the brightest young stars in the World Wrestling Entertainment having been a four time champion.  When he's not on the wrestling circuit he's working to become the next action hero in the movie industry. His first theatrical film was "The Marine" and "12 rounds" debuts March 27th.  The movie centers around Cena, his character, Danny Fisher as a New Orleans detective who puts a theif in jail and in the process of stopping the heist the thief's girlfriend is accidentally killed.  After escaping from prison, the criminal mastermind takes his revenge out on Danny with a serious of near impossible tasks...12 rounds...that Danny must complete to save the life of his fiancee.

"There is a lot of driving in this movie.  This is a fast paced action movie, me getting from point A to point B as quick as I can.  Like I said I've driven police cruisers and wrecked a bunch of those.  I've got to wreck a camero even wrecked a fire truck.  This was a typical day at the office.  The movie is awesome.  You're off to the races as far as the action goes."

So does this action hero complete his mission and save the girl? "I don't want to spoil it for anybody, but I am a good guy and I certainly try to save the day." Cena knows the NASCAR circuit having participated in the reality show, "Young Guns: Fast Cars and Superstars Celebrity Race" on ABC-TV and was paired with three-time TMS Sprint Cup Series winner Carl Edwards. "I was educated on the ways of NASCAR and became friends with a lot of the drivers and I've been hooked ever since," Cena said.

"I watch whenever I can on the weekends.  If we're on the road, I'm listening to AM or FM radio and I do the ESPN Fantasy NASCAR.  I'm pretty much all over it, I'm hooked."
